You guys!!! I totally missed Mix and Match Monday for the Month of May! (Say that 3x times fast!) The last few weeks have been a little crazier than usual. My husband was home for a week for a little staycation. A personal project I was working on suddenly got a few week earlier deadline. I am taking on a new responsibilty (that I am excited to share about soon) and there has been a lot of time devoted to the transition from the prior person to me. AND my computer mouse started malfunctioning! Thankfully it was just the mouse... easy fix but it was nearly impossible to select things which basically brought me to a standstill to work on design things etc. And in the whirlwind of all that I forgot to do a Monday Collage this week! So... Here is a fun grouping from a few years ago that I am going to re-use on a Saturday! I love me some cool watermelon on a hot day and it has been hot all week so it kind of fits. Looking forward to a much cooler week ahead and getting back on track for all my design stuff. Lots of fun things to come!
Almost to the end of the month! Me Made May Day 28. Today's outfit included a heavily de-voluminized (Is that a word?) Forte Dress made last year paired with a Black CL Julia Cardigan made many many years ago! Fun to pair an old with a newer! If you want to know all about the mods on this dress there is a full detailed post from last Sept. on my feed! #lovenotions #lovenotionsforte #juliacardigan
I have been very busy this week working on a piece of artwork that suddenly has a bumped up deadline. It is not quite finished and I want to wait a little bit to share it, but it is music themed so I thought it would be fun to post another music themed design that also happens to use some of the same colors! I used this design once to make a drawstring bag for my dad (Who plays guitar, but not electric ha ha) so you can swipe to see it in action! #spoonflower #spoonflowered #fabric
Me Made May Day 21 It was cool enough this morning to squeeze in a first time wear of this newer make... a Laurel Tunic by Greenstyle Creations. This is my wearable muslin out of french terry leftovers... I was hoping to get a sweatshirt dress out of it, but making it as long as I possibly could with the fabric I had it is not quite dress long enough for me. I ended up with something in between the tunic and shortest dress length and there is not enough coverage when I bend over to wear with just leggings. ha! This was my first time sewing a Greenstyle pattern and I feel kind of neutral about it... the piecing all matched up well, the instructions weren't my favorite (not sure if I even followed them). My bust put me on the lower XS range but the bodice is definitely too small and the sleeves feel narrow even for my skinny arms. I want to make a short sleeved dress version out of jersey and I will definitely be sizing up on the bodice and sleeves... still deciding on the bottom portion. I did get several compliments but this might be a give away piece simply for how snug it is on top. Paired with RTW jeans. #laureltunic #greenstylecreations #laureltunicanddress #greenstylelaurel
The theme for this week's Spoonflower Challenge is Sweet Dreams... I am not entered into the contest... but YEARS ago I did enter a contest with a very similar theme! I feel like lately almost every theme is similar to one I have seen before or a topic that I already have covered in my existing designs. So... I might not be in the contest but I figured I might as well join into the fun of the theme! Counting Sheep was my entry design but NOT in these colors. That contest was also a specific colors contest (back in those days limited color challenges were NOT anything goes theme wise but also had a theme... I liked that MUCH better.) Anyways... I am not a huge fan of the contest colors so instead I am sharing this "slumber" color version. It is part of my Dreamland Collection (swipe to see the designs). #spoonflower #fabric #wallpaper
NEW COLORWAY of my Coffee Break design now available in my @spoonflower shop! This is the toasty version! I will be adding toasty color versions of the coordinates too but probably not until next week! You can find a link to the entire collection in my profile. #spoonflower #fabric #wallpaper
